Poetry Reading

May 1

River and Rail Bakery | 210 11th St

7 pm

Nationally-known writer and Marshall professor Sarah Chavez knows the best test for your writing is to get out there in front of people and start reading your words.

Starting at 7 p.m. Monday, May 1, at River and Rail Bakery, 210 11th St., Huntington, Chavez's Marshall University, English 4/591: Advanced Poetry Writing class will celebrate its semester of hard work with the ultimate test - a final exam giving a public reading of poems class members have written this semester for class.

They've been reading and writing and revising and revising (and maybe more revising), and this event aims to be a proud display of that work, Chavez said in a release.

River and Rail will be serving food and hosting the event.
