DESCRIPTION:Brian Michael Reed: Elemental Trance\nExhibition at the Birke Art Gallery\nMay 18 – June 19\, 2026 \nExhibition Details\nDates: May 18 to June 19\, 2026\nLocation: Birke Art Gallery\, Visual Arts Center\, 927 Third Ave\, Huntington\, WV\nHours: Monday–Friday\, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.\nAdmission: Free and open to the public \nReception\nJoin us for the exhibition reception during the first Downtown Art Walk of the season:\nJune 19\, 5–7 p.m. \nAmerican multi‑media artist Brian Michael Reed brings his globally informed\, symbol‑rich practice to the Visual Arts Center this summer. Known for his conceptual approach to pictorial anthropology\, Reed draws from immersive experiences across China\, Japan\, Indonesia\, Mexico\, the Appalachian region\, and Israel. His works activate the spiritual resonance of found materials and highlight shared cultural threads that bridge geographic and linguistic divides. \nReed’s art has been exhibited and collected internationally\, including by the Museum of the Americas on the National Mall\, the Huntington Museum of Art\, the Yuz Museum\, the Shanghai Himalayas Museum of Art\, and the Hanshan Art Museum. His work has been reviewed by major publications such as the New York Times\, Washington Post\, Global Times\, Shanghai Daily\, The Charleston Gazette‑Mail\, GQ Magazine\, and Arty.
