SUMMARY:Valley of the Shadow Screening and Q&A
DESCRIPTION:Free Film Screening & Q&A with Filmmaker Tom Whitus. This Western began as a conversation at the American Film Market in Las Vegas and quickly grew into a full script written with West Virginia in mind. Though set in Colorado in 1877\, the film was shot entirely in West Virginia\, using locations like Jackson’s Mill in Weston and a farm in Buckhannon.\nFilmed over 12 days in July with a cast and crew of 25—many of them West Virginians—the project is a true homegrown production.\nWriter\, producer\, and director Tom Whitus\, along with key cast and crew\, will be in attendance for a post-screening Q&A.Admission is free\, and the community is warmly invited.

SUMMARY:Earth & Blood Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:West Edge Factory is so excited to welcome everyone to join us at the Turret Gallery for ceramic artist Josh Perry’s first solo exhibition!\nJosh’s work uses clay\, sculpture\, and installation to explore how people are shaped by the systems around them—such as war\, belief\, disability\, and social expectations. His pieces reflect on harm and healing\, asking how we carry our past experiences and how change becomes possible. The work is grounded\, physical\, and honest\, inviting viewers to slow down and spend time with each object.\nAccessibility and adaptation are central to Perry’s practice\, influencing both how the work is made and how it is experienced. His art considers memory\, trauma\, and resilience without offering easy answers\, instead creating space for reflection and conversation.\nThe opening reception will be held Friday\, February 6 from 6–9 PM\, with the gallery open for viewing throughout the evening.\nThe event will also include a poetry reading from 6–7 PM and live music by Sam Eplin.\nLight refreshments will be provided.\nThis event is free and open to the public\, and all are welcome.

SUMMARY:Scene Report Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:The Frame Station proudly presents “Scene Report” The Photography of Nate Maynard & Von Rhodes\nFor years Von & Nate have been attending and capturing some of the most unique music performances in some of the most unique venues this area has to offer and of those who attend. Often only sharing the images of music and culture with those who make it.Please join us as these 2 fixtures of the regional music scene share their art of documentation for the first time in a public setting.\n” I’ve been capturing a perspective of the Huntington DIY scene since 2022. All the beauty of it and wonderful people involved. I want to show what Huntington really is. A community of folks doing something together. I hope these photos show this and they will linger on\, like a spectral presence.” – Nate Maynard\n\n“Documenting the the WV Scene has been the best years of my life. It’s helped my life is so many ways I can’t describe. Documenting memories for people to look back on. That’s my main thing. These years of work have afforded me chances to work outside the state. Everyday\, is a day closer\, to this being my life. Styling & Wildin’ – Von Rhodes
