SUMMARY:Safety Town Trick or Treat
DESCRIPTION:The Huntington Police Department will be assisting Safety Town during the City’s Safe Trick-or-Treat event. As in previous years\, this event is expected to draw a substantial crowd of children and families to the area. \nTo ensure the safety of all participants\, the department initially planned to close the 14th Street Viaduct from Memorial Boulevard to Van Buren Avenue. This closure provides a safe passageway for patrons traveling between the Save-A-Lot area and the former Olympic Pool area while entering the event line. Following a recent review of the traffic and crowd flow plan\, it was determined that an expanded closure area is necessary to further protect pedestrians along Memorial Boulevard. Based on these findings\, we are now planning to close Memorial Boulevard from 14th Street West to Harvey Road for the duration of the event. This section will be secured using traffic cones\, barricades\, and marked police vehicles to establish a clear and visible barrier for attendees. Marked units will remain manned at all times to ensure quick access for emergency response vehicles\, if needed. \nThe closure will be in effect from approximately 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM. Temporary street signs will be placed along Memorial Boulevard near the horseshoe to notify drivers of the closure and provide a designated turnaround point for those not attending the event. Additional signage will be installed on 14th Street West\, north of Van Buren Avenue and west of Harvey Road\, to provide advance notice of the closures. \nEvent attendees traveling along Memorial Boulevard will also have a designated\, coned turnaround area on 14th Street West after exiting the event.

SUMMARY:Fast Track at Mountaineer Opry
DESCRIPTION:Fast Track is a powerhouse bluegrass band formed by four highly decorated and accomplished musicians\, each with a long history of success in the bluegrass and country music scenes. The group came together when three of the founding members decided to form a band and set out to find two more instrumentalists—mandolin and guitar—who were also strong vocalists. Needless to say\, they struck gold\, creating a perfect blend of talent and musical synergy.
