DESCRIPTION:The Huntington Museum of Art will offer a scavenger hunt-style game with an animal theme on March 24\, 2026\, at 6 p.m. as part of the 4th Tuesday Tour Series. Light refreshments will be served. Admission is free.\n\n“This scavenger hunt-style event will appeal to people who enjoy interactive games by using clues to search the permanent galleries and C. Fred Edwards Conservatory for the answers\,” said HMA Director of Education Cindy Dearborn. “Families can compete together in this event. One of the participants who completes the scavenger hunt successfully will take home a gift certificate donated by the Museum Store.”\n\nThe 4th Tuesday Tour Series at HMA offers a guided tour\, a special speaker\, or other event on the fourth Tuesday of each month.\n\nHMA offers free general admission on Tuesdays when hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information on membership or events at the Huntington Museum of Art\, visit hmoa.org or call (304) 529-2701. DESCRIPTION:Marshall University’s Department of English will continue the A.E. Stringer Visiting Writers Series in February\, with a reading by author Anna Rollins\, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Feb. 5\, in the Drinko Atrium\, located on the third floor of Drinko Library. The event is free and open to the public. \nRollins is the author of “Famished: On Food\, Sex\, and Growing Up as a Good Girl\,” published in December of 2025. Her debut memoir examines the rhyming scripts of diet culture and purity culture\, both of which direct women to fear their own bodies and appetites. Her writing has appeared in outlets like The New York Times\, Slate\, Electric Literature\, Salon\, Joyland\, and more. She’s also written scholarly articles about composition and writing center studies. \nRollins is also an award-winning instructor who taught English at Marshall University for nearly 15 years. She is a 2025 Tamarack Foundation for the Arts Literary Arts Fellow. A lifelong Appalachian\, she lives with her husband in West Virginia\, where they’re raising their three small children. \n“I cannot overstate how excited we are to host Anna as our debut spring visiting author\,” said Sara Henning\, assistant professor of English and coordinator of the A.E. Stringer Visiting Writers Series. “She is beyond remarkable: A powerhouse writer\, Marshall alumna and beloved former colleague of the English department. DESCRIPTION:We Are Here\, We Will Be Seen is an exhibition hosted by Marshall University’s School of Art and Design in collaboration with Rise and Repaint. \nRise and Repaint is a global collective amplifying the voices of women and non-binary artists. With a global community of over 100\,000 people\, with 2\,000+ women artists connected through the Where Are The Women Artists directory and their Inner Circle membership platform. This work now extends beyond digital resources into physical exhibitions that expand visibility and equity in the arts. \nJoin us on February 5 for an evening at the Birke Art Gallery. Meet fellow art lovers\, connect with the community\, and experience powerful works firsthand. The reception runs from 6:00–7:30 PM and is completely free to attend. \nThe exhibition will be on view January 12 to February 20. The galleries are free and open to all. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday\, 10am to 4pm.

DESCRIPTION:Young Illustrator’s Contest Winners to be Recognized at HMA on Feb 3 at 6 p.m.\nThe winners of the Young Illustrator’s Contest presented by The Cabell County Reading Council will be recognized at the Huntington Museum of Art on Tuesday\, Jan. 27\, 2026\, at 6 p.m. Admission to this 4th Tuesday Tour Event is free. Light refreshments will be served.\n“HMA’s 4th Tuesday Tour on January 27 is the result of HMA’s long-standing relationship with Cabell County Schools and the Cabell County Reading Council\,” said HMA Director of Education Cindy Dearborn. “For several years HMA has been displaying the artwork by the winners in The Young Illustrator’s Contest in the Education Gallery. We will continue to display the winning artworks and\, for the second year in a row\, also honor the young artists in person during a special 4th Tuesday Tour Event.”\nThe Young Illustrator’s Contest\, which has been taking place for more than 25 years\, honors one student in each grade from kindergarten through 12th grade.\nThe 4th Tuesday Tour Series at HMA takes place on the fourth Tuesday of each month and features a guided tour\, guest speaker or other special event.
