SUMMARY:When We Were Young and Unafraid at MU Theatre
DESCRIPTION:When We Were Young and Unafraid by Sarah Treem is a gripping\, heartfelt drama set in the early 1970s—before the word “shelter” meant safety for women in danger. Agnes\, a no-nonsense innkeeper with a secret\, quietly oers refuge to survivors of domestic violence. But when a battered young woman arrives with fierce defiance and a complicated past\, the household is turned upside down. As generations clash and secrets unravel\, each woman must confront what it really means to feel safe\, to be strong\, and to chart her own future. This powerful play is both a tribute to quiet revolutionaries and a call to courage. \n$22 at the door | $5 for Marshall Students | $15 for Seniors 60+ and Marshall Employees\nFree to Marshall Students on October 1st only with a valid ID

SUMMARY:Picasso at the Lapin Agile at MU Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Picasso at the Lapin Agile is a clever and funny play by Steve Martin\, comedian and actor\, that imagines what might happen if a young Albert Einstein and a young Pablo Picasso met in a Paris bar in 1904—just before they became world-famous. As they talk (and argue!) about art\, science\, love\, and the future\, the bar fills with quirky characters and surprising ideas. With quick wit and a lot of laughs\, this playful comedy asks big questions in a fun\, light-hearted way—proving that genius doesn’t have to be serious all the time. \n$22 at the door | $5 for Marshall Students | $15 for Seniors 60+ and Marshall Employees\nFree to Marshall Students on November 19th only with a valid ID.

SUMMARY:Little Shop of Horrors at Alchemy Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Alchemy Theatre proudly presents…The hit musical LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS!\nDirected by Nora Ankrom; With Music Direction by Mark Smith and Choreography by Kristen Rucker\n\nLittle Shop of Horrors is a horror comedy rock musical with music by Alan Menken and lyrics and a book by Howard Ashman. The story follows a hapless florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood and flesh. The musical is loosely based on the low-budget 1960 black comedy film The Little Shop of Horrors. The music\, composed by Menken in the style of early 1960s rock and roll\, doo-wop and early Motown\, includes several well-known tunes\, including the title song\, “Skid Row (Downtown)”\, “Somewhere That’s Green”\, and “Suddenly\, Seymour”.\nThe musical premiered off-off-Broadway in 1982 before moving to the Orpheum Theatre off-Broadway\, where it had a five-year run. It later received numerous productions in the U.S. and abroad\, and a subsequent Broadway production. The musical was also made into a 1986 film of the same name\, directed by Frank Oz.
