SUMMARY:An Evening with Steve Hofstetter
DESCRIPTION:Join us in welcoming national touring comedian Steve Hofstetter to Foundry Theater! This show is 18+ ! \nHofstetter’s national TV debut came on ESPN’s Quite Frankly\, where Stephen A. Smith yelled at him for three minutes. Hofstetter has also appeared on CBS’ “Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson”\, Showtime’s “White Boyz in the Hood”\, VH1’s “Countdown”\, Sundance’s “On the Road in America”\, and ABC’s “Barbara Walter’s Special”\, where he thankfully did not cry. He is the host and executive producer of “Laughs” on Fox networks\, where he only cries occasionally. \nOne of the top booked acts on the college circuit\, the original writer for collegehumor.com has also released six albums. Hofstetter has written humor columns for the New York Times\, SportsIllustrated.com\, and NHL.com\, where he publicly admitted to being a Ranger fan. \nAfter hosting Four Quotas on Sirius Satellite Radio for two seasons\, Hofstetter moved to broadcast radio\, and his Sports Minute (Or So) was syndicated on over 170 stations and in over 30 newspapers. Hofstetter’s second live comedy album (“Cure For the Cable Guy”) reached #20 on Billboard’s comedy charts. His third album (“Dark Side of the Room”) was the first ever pay-what-you-want” comedy album\, since people were going to steal it anyway. His fourth album consisted of an hour of 100% ad-libbed material\, which is\, frankly\, nuts. And his fifth album hit #1 on iTunes’ comedy charts\, which is also a bit nuts. \nHofstetter’s brutal tour schedule consists of over 100 colleges and dozens of clubs every year\, and is fueled by an immense online popularity\, tons of press\, and a Prius with great gas mileage. He reached 200\,000 friends on Facebook (still the world record)\, 400\,000 more on MySpace\, and high shelves in grocery stores. \nWhile Hofstetter’s live shows are routinely sold out\, he is best known for his writing\, first published at age 15\, mainly to impress girls. At 18\, he co-founded “Sports Jerk of the Week”\, an irreverent website featured by press like USA Today’s Baseball Weekly\, Sports Illustrated and CNN. And at 20\, Hofstetter took a year off of school to head up web content for the New York Yankees. The Yankees won the World Series that year\, which would have been wonderful if they hadn’t beaten Hofstetter’s Mets. Yes\, he’s also a Mets fan. Poor kid. \nWhile an undergraduate at Columbia University\, Hofstetter was a well-read columnist for the Columbia Daily Spectator and a voice of the Lions. After a summer writing for Maxim\, ESPN\, and Sports Illustrated for Kids\, Hofstetter syndicated his column in several newspapers. \nWithout his glasses\, Hofstetter also looks a great deal like Michael Rappaport. \nFoundry Theater is located at 800 5th Ave. Huntington\, WV (Second floor of City Hall). Doors at 6:00 PM\, show at 7:00 PM

The event is free and open to the public and will take place on Monday\, May 15 at 7 P.M. in Heritage Station at 210 11th Street in downtown Huntington. \nCheryl Denise grew up in Elmira\, Ontario. Now she and her husband live in Philippi\, WV\, in the intentional community of Shepherds Field in a timber framed home they built when they were young and brimming with energy. Cheryl is the author of the poetry books\, Fences\, (2022)\, What’s in the Blood (2012) and I Saw God Dancing (2005)\, all published by Cascadia Publishing House\, DreamSeeker Books\, Telford\, PA. Her book\, Norris Tales\, the Adventures of an Awful Housecat\, an anthology of anecdotes and short stories revolving around family tyrant Norris\, a cat of unusual presence and demeanor. SUMMARY:Logan Halstead with James Merry - The Loud
DESCRIPTION:Logan Halstead\nwith James Merry\nMay 13\, 2023\nDoors at 8pm\nShow at 9pm\n$12 Advance\n$15 Day of Show\n18+\n—\nIn 2020 Logan released “Dark Black Coal” on Youtube\, which has since amassed almost 6 million views. The success of that single has allowed Logan to build a great fan base through YouTube\, touring\, and opening for folks like Zach Bryan\, Charles Wesley Godwin\, Town Mountain\, and many more. With the record’s release over a year after he created the album\, Our Vinyl came into his life at the perfect time. Halstead released a taste of his upcoming project\, and with that four-song EP\, Logan gained over 120\,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. He rode the momentum of that release and went on to play Healing Appalachia\, Laurel Cove Music Festival\, Whimmy Diddle\, FoxFire\, Cumberland Fall Festival\, Nelsonville Music Festival\, Moonshiners Ball and more.\nWith the success of “Dark Black Coal” it’s no surprise that it became the title for his first album. He signed with Thirty Tigers and is excited to partner with them on his release. The release date is slated for May 5th\, and he will be touring those songs throughout May. Expect to see his name on festival billings\, support tours\, and in a town near you. “I want my music to keep evolving and improve my craft. I want to be the best I can be and give my fans shows to remember” says Halstead. Like all musicians\, they hope to achieve a successful career but don’t expect Logan Halstead to change who he is or what he believes in to reach it. Authentically himself\, he strives to always be honest and true to his fans.
