SUMMARY:GHOST The Ultimate Tour Named Death
DESCRIPTION:GHOST The Ultimate Tour Named Death with special guests NothingMore come to the Big Sandy Arena October 11 at 7:30pm\n\nThe Swedish-born Tobias Forge\, who has been referred to as “the Andrew Lloyd Webber of rock\,” is Ghost’s creative force\, singer\, songwriter\, musician\, and architect of the elaborate storylines that are woven through the band’s four full-length studio albums\, EPs\, music videos\, webisodes\, and live shows\, all of which advance the Ghost storyline.  Forge grew up listening to a wide array of 70s and 80s rock – Alice Cooper\, Journey\, Kansas\, Boston\, Black Sabbath\, Jefferson Starship\, Iron Maiden\, and Foreigner.  He’s a hardcore music junkie; at home in Sweden\, he has a most impressive collection of vinyl\, cassettes\, CDs\, and VHS tapes\, and when on tour\, he regularly arranges for visits to local record haunts and ships back even more treasures.  He plays guitar\, bass\, drums\, keyboards\, and kazoo.  Ghost’s current album\, Prequelle\, is loosely based on The Black Plague of 14th century Europe\, a metaphor Forge hopes will apply to the societal ills of today. \nGhost’s music began as being much heavier\, harder and “more metal\,” but over the band’s recent history\, their songs have evolved to embrace a more catchy\, rock/pop sound.  Five of the band’s songs have hit Billboard’s Top 5 Rock chart – “Cirice” claimed the #4 spot in 2015\, “From The Pinnacle to the Pit” went to #5 in 2016\, and “Square Hammer” (2017)\, “Rats” (2018)\, and “Dance Macabre” (2018) all held the #1 spot on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart and on the Mediabase Active Rock chart.  Ghost’s music retains its rock edge as well as its dark lyrical themes like The Black Plague\, the Antichrist\, the Inquisition\, avarice\, and the Apocalypse.  Ghost has received two Grammy nominations:  “Best Metal Performance” in 2016 for “Rats\,” which they won\, and “Best Rock Album” in 2019. \n\nPrices are $69.50\, $59.50 PIT (GA standing only) and $49.50. Additional fees may apply.\nFor tickets and more information please visit www.ghost-official.com www.bigsandyarena.com or call 304.696.5990 Ext. 3503

SUMMARY:Haunted Majestic
DESCRIPTION:In early 2019 the barges were bought by a new company ironically named the Majestic Steamboat Company and were moved back to West Virginia where they were moored and their future fate contemplated. This new company’s owners knew nothing of the barges’ haunted history\, previous owners of an almost exact company name\, or for whom the barges had been named. \nAfter much research and consultation with paranormal investigators the owners pledged to preserve the vessel for those who “live” aboard and not use it for commercial purposes again. Soon\, Haunted Majestic was born as the barges became permanently moored at the steamboat company’s home at Majestic Landing at river mile marker 300 on the Ohio River\, seven miles northeast of Huntington\, West Virginia. \nBelieving they were somehow “chosen” to care for the vessel’s future and preserve its past\, the owners have decided Haunted Majestic will remain moored at Majestic Landing indefinitely where visitors can tour the vessel and meet those who will forever inhabit its’ hulls. \nIts 2019 haunt season will run Thursday through Saturday nights beginning Oct. 17 and ending Nov. 2. The hours of operation are from 6 to 11 p.m. with special guests appearing each night including Eddie Munster from the 1960s sitcom “The Munsters” and the Green Goblin Head from Stephen King’s “Maximum Overdrive” movie. \nTicket booth opens at 6 p.m. nightly. Tours begin at 7:30 p.m. nightly or as soon as darkness arrives. Ticket booth will close at 11 p.m. nightly. Those not in line and with a ticket by 11 p.m. will not be admitted as there is a 30-90 minute wait time for tours based on length of lines. Everyone who purchases a ticket by 11 p.m. will be admitted that night. \n\nThe cost is $17 for a general admission ticket\, which gives customers access to a guided tour and access to special guests. There is the fast pass for $22\, and a season pass that costs $42. \n\nOn Oct. 17\, 24\, 30 and 31\, the Paranormal Investigative Team (PIT) will offer paranormal ghost hunts through the Haunted Majestic and surrounding grounds. These tours will take place after Haunted Majestic closes on these nights and will cost $20. Paranormal tours of Haunted Majestic last approximately one hour. \nThe haunt is scary and is not recommended for those under 13 years old. Children 12 and under who wish to participate in the haunt must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to be admitted. \nThe Haunted Majestic is the Tri-State Area’s only floating haunted attraction!  Visit www.hauntedmajestic.com for a complete list of events\, guests and other information.
