SUMMARY:Travis Tritt & Chris Janson Can't Miss Tour
DESCRIPTION:Travis Tritt Biography \nThirty years after Travis Tritt launched his music career\, the Southern rock-influenced artist continues to sell-out shows and stay true and relevant to country music fans across the globe. Continuously performing shows and withholding a heavy appearance schedule\, Tritt is proving to be unstoppable. \nThe highly abbreviated Tritt timeline started when the young Marietta\, Georgia native incorporated his lifelong influences of Southern rock\, blues and gospel into his country during a honky-tonk apprenticeship that led him to Warner Bros. in 1989.Over the course of a decade\, Travis released seven studio albums and a greatest hits package for the label. His 1990 debut Country Club and its succession of hits put him in the vanguard of the genre’s early ’90s boom\, dubbing him as one of “The Class of ‘89\,” which included country music superstars Garth Brooks\, Clint Black and Alan Jackson; all whom dominated the charts in the early ‘90s. \n“Country Club\,” “Help Me Hold On\,” “I’m Gonna Be Somebody\,” and “Drift Off to Dream” peaked at numbers two and three on the Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts; all which led for Tritt to win Top New Male Artist award from Billboard and the CMA Horizon Award (now known as the Best New Artist Award). Additionally\, in 1991\, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) marked Tritt’s debut album Country Club as certified platinum\, then in 1992\, the world-famous Grand Ole Opry extended an invitation for Tritt to become a member. \nTwo years after his debut\, Travis’ sophomore album\, It’s All About to Change\, was released. Literally speaking\, this album changed everything when the album shipped three million copies and all four of its singles reached the top five on the country music charts. Along with his first album\, this release became triple-platinum certified by the RIAA. \nAt the same time\, his conspicuous lack of a cowboy hat and musical assertiveness set him apart. The next series of albums\, seven of which are certified platinum or higher\, scored him more hit singles and led him to amass more than 30 million in career album sales\, two Grammys\, three CMA Awards and a devoted fan base that has filled venues coast-to-coast. \nHe’s been a force in sports appearances\, having performed at the 1996 Olympics\, two Super Bowls\, a World Series Game\, the opening of the Georgia Dome\, the final Braves game at Atlanta-Fulton Country Stadium and\, in 2013\, the NCAA men’s basketball championship. \nIn 2012\, Tritt formed his own label\, Post Oak Recordings and shortly after released his album\, The Calm After… In 2016\, Tritt released a new project\, a special live 2-disc CD and DVD\, titled A Man and His Guitar – Live From The Franklin Theatre. The release shot and recorded at the historic Franklin Theatre in Franklin\, Tenn.\, spotlights Tritt’s distinctively soulful voice and his exceptional guitar prowess in an intimate theater setting. \nIn late 2014 and throughout 2015\, Tritt’s compilation album\, Very Best of Travis Tritt\, that was originally released in 2007\, saw a sales resurgence as it topped the SoundScan Top 200 Catalog Country Albums chart for over 60 consecutive weeks with 15 weeks spent at No. 1 and 35+ weeks notched in a Top 5 position\, while earning RIAA certified gold status by selling over 500\,000 copies. The 20-track album features some of Tritt’s biggest hits\, including “It’s A Great Day To Be Alive\,” “Here’s A Quarter\,” and “Anymore.” \nIn 2018\, Tritt appeared on the music showcase series\, Real Country\, alongside Grammy Award-winning artist\, Shania Twain and ACM Award-winning singer-songwriter\, Jake Owen who hand-selected emerging solo artists\, duos and groups to perform in showcases that spotlight the rich traditions\, songs and themes of specific country genres. The show aired on USA Network. \nIn 2021\, Tritt released a new album with award-winning producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton\, The Highwomen\, Sturgill Simpson) through Big Noise Music Group. The album marked Tritt’s first original album release in over thirteen years. \nFor more information on Travis Tritt\, visit his website TravisTritt.com and follow him on and Facebook and Twitter. \nChris Janson Biography\nWho is Chris Janson? He’s a “live legacy in the making” (Rolling Stone). Breakout country star Janson is a platinum-selling recording artist\, high-octane entertainer\, multi-instrumentalist\, and award-winning singer/songwriter who Bobby Bones has named among the greatest six live performers in country music. The ACM Award-winner has collected prestigious accolades that place him amongst country music greats. Both his inspiring hit “Drunk Girl” and his chart-topping\, 3x Platinum smash “Buy Me A Boat” were named among NSAI’s “Ten Songs I Wish I’d Written” lists – making Janson one in a handful of the industry’s most elite artists to earn the title multiple times. “Good Vibes\,” the flagship single from his 2019 album Real Friends\, and follow-up “Done” each topped the country charts\, bringing his total of No. 1 songs to four – and now the hit-maker is entering a new chapter with “Bye Mom.” The single\, derived from the real-life story of co-writer Brandon Kinney\, is a triumphant ode to unconditional love. It was most-added upon impact at country radio and earned the highest first-week streaming total of Janson’s career. In addition to his own successes\, the talented songwriter has lent his pen to industry peers including Tim McGraw (“Truck Yeah\,” “How I’ll Always Be”)\, LOCASH (“I Love This Life”) and the legendary Hank Williams Jr. (“God Fearin’ Man\,” “Those Days Are Gone”). Catch Janson’s “crazy harmonica skill and… riveting stage tyle” (People) this winter on his headlining Halfway to Crazy Tour and see for yourself what makes him an “undeniable star” (The Tennessean).

SUMMARY:Senses - An Art Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Can machines be taught to see\, hear\, speak? What is lost? What might be found? These questions coil in the roots of this exhibition by artists Christiana Caro and Kimberly Lyle. Both reflect on the interface of the body with technology to imagine forms that might allow us to uncover other ways of knowing. \nThe reception will be held Thursday\, October 13 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. \nBIRKE ART GALLERY\nLocated in Smith Hall on the corner of\nHal Greer Boulevard and Third Avenue\nHuntington\, WV 25755 | 304-696-4312\nFor gallery hours call or visit the website: marshall.edu/art-galleries \nAll events are free and open to the public

SUMMARY:The Red Clay Strays - The Loud
DESCRIPTION:Broadberry Entertainment Group presents:\n𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐬 at The Loud\nOctober 14\, 2022\nDoors 8pm / Show 9pm\n$15 ADV / $20 DOS\nTickets HERE\n—\n𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐘 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐘𝐒\nWith a sound as classic as the crackling of a Sun Records vinyl still spinning somewhere in Memphis\, yet as fresh as the musical stylings of the 21st century\, The Red Clay Strays are busy making waves with their spellbinding and genre-bending brand of tunes. Reminiscent of the vibrant heyday of southern music\, the band finds their origins in the styles of classic country\, rockabilly\, and gospel-fed soul all the while ushering a new era of rock-and-roll that is as distinctive as the men who form it. Born and bred in the red dirty clay of South Alabama\, Brandon Coleman (lead vocals/guitar)\, Drew Nix (vocals/electric guitar/harmonica)\, Zach Rishel (electric guitar)\, Andrew Bishop (bass)\, and John Hall (drums)\, blended their unique individualities and influences together to create a band with a rare sincerity that isn’t often seen in today’s industry. After spending the past fiver years cutting their teeth in the Gulf Coast music scene while simultaneously running the roads discovering who they are and where they belong in the world\, The Red Clay Strays are prepared to take the world by storm as they reveal their “Moment of Truth” in the spring of 2022. So…How ‘Bout You Come On and join the ride?
