DESCRIPTION:Kenova will have their annual tree lighting ceremony on December 4th beginning at 7p.m.  The ceremony will begin at the Kenova United Methodist Church and will feature the C-K Alumni Band\, special vocal presentations\, and the reading of the names of loved ones who have passed away or whom someone wishes to recognize or honor.  Names for the Memorial can be submitted at Kenova City Hall.  A $5.00 donation is suggested for each name submitted.  All proceeds go to benefit the Kenova Beautification.

DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Christmas with a historic twist as The Madie Carroll House Preservation Society\, Inc. hosts its Christmas event from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday\, Dec. 9\, at the house\, 234 Guyan St.\, Huntington.\n\n\nIf weather permits\, caroling will begin at 5 p.m. Santa Claus will be there for children to visit. The biannual meeting and Christmas dinner will be at 2 p.m. Tours will be available of this historic house that was transported down the Ohio River from Gallipolis to its current location in 1810. The house served as the area’s first Catholic church\, an inn and a tavern\, and was saved by Mary Carroll from burning by Union troops during an 1861 Civil War battle in the town.\n\n\nThe Christmas event is free and open to the public. SUMMARY:Honky Tonk Heroes Third Annual Toy Drive
DESCRIPTION:In coordination with local charity Kids Need Christmas\, Honky Tonk Heroes raises funds that go directly to buying presents for local kids who would otherwise not have a Christmas. This project fills more than just toys under a tree. Well over half these kids NEED warm clothes\, new socks and underwear\, coats\, shoes\, gloves\, blankets etc. so this show has a lasting impact long after Christmas morning. It’s helping these kids sleep comfortably during winter nights and keeping them warm while waiting for the bus in January.\nThe project has helped over 100 children to date and last year raised around $5000 all told.
