DESCRIPTION:“Eggciting Egg Hunt” Returns for Children who have Disabilities and Their Families\nAn Inclusive\, Adaptive Spring Celebration Hosted by DTC and GHPRD \nThe Developmental Therapy Center (DTC)\, in partnership with the Greater Huntington Park & Recreation District (GHPRD)\, is excited to announce the return of the Eggciting Egg Hunt—a free\, adaptive egg hunt designed specifically for children who have disabilities and their siblings.\nThis inclusive\, sensory-friendly event will take place on Thursday\, April 17\, 2025\, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at St. Cloud Commons Lodge & All-Inclusive Playground\, located at 1701 Jackson Avenue\, Huntington\, WV 25704. \n“At Developmental Therapy Center\, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do\,” said Leslie Comer-Porter\, Executive Director of Developmental Therapy Center. “The Eggciting Egg Hunt is a celebration of every child’s right to play\, explore\, and feel connected—no matter their abilities. DESCRIPTION:Come out for Ashley’s Fiction Book Club. This month we’re reading Sankofa  by Chibundu Onuzo. \nA funny\, gripping and surprising story of a mixed-race British woman who goes in search of the African father she never knew\, by award-winning author Chibundu Onuzo. Anna grew up in England with her white mother and knowing very little about her African father. In middle age\, after separating from her husband and with her daughter all grown up\, she finds herself alone and wondering who she really is. Her mother’s death leads her to find her father’s student diaries\, chronicling his involvement in radical politics in 1970s London. She discovers that he eventually became the president – some would say the dictator – of Bamana in West Africa. She also discovers that he is still alive. She decides to track him down and so begins a funny\, painful\, fascinating journey\, and an exploration of race\, identity and what we pass on to our children.
