Her writing has appeared in outlets like The New York Times\, Slate\, Electric Literature\, Literary Hub\, Joyland\, and more. She’s an award-winning instructor who taught English in higher education for nearly 15 years and a 2025 West Virginia Creative Network Literary Arts Fellow. A Q&A period will follow her remarks.\nHolly Mount is the Huntington City Council Representative for District 6\, Chair of the Planning Commission\, Vice Chair of the Harmony House Board of Directors\, and a Registered Nurse. She graduated from Marshall University in 2004 from the Marshall University College of Nursing and Health Professions and went on to receive her Masters in Nursing Informatics. She began her career in nursing in the Pediatric Intensive Care unit and has worked as an Air & Ground Transport Nurse\, clinical sales manager for North America\, and in healthcare technology and leadership. She has a passion for planning and zoning – most likely stemming from playing hours of Sim City during her formative years – and lives in Huntington\, WV\, with her husband Jeremy and their two kids\, Caroline and Leo\, as well as two dogs and an axolotl.\nMeeting info:We will meet at noon on Friday\, January 23rd. The meeting will be at the Brad D. Smith Center for Business and Innovation\, located on 4th Avenue\, in the Executive Board Room #315 (take the elevator to the 3rd floor – it will be the room on your left). Food and drink are not served\, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own as this meeting time serves as a lunch break for many.
