SUMMARY:Virtual Empty Bowls
DESCRIPTION:Marshall University and The Pottery Place are once again teaming up to offer the popular Empty Bowls fundraiser event to benefit Facing Hunger Foodbank. \n\nDue to the coronavirus pandemic\, the event — typically a soup lunch where attendees choose their own handmade bowl to purchase and keep — moved online in 2020\, with bowls instead being placed for sale on The Pottery Place’s website. \n\n\nThat format returns in 2021 for the entire month of April. \n\n\nThose interested can check www.thepotteryplace.biz each Friday for updates\, new bowls (to be sold for $20 each) and a dessert auction. \n\n\nThe first 100 purchasers also will receive 10%-off food coupons to Bahnhof WVrsthaus & Biergarten and Black Sheep Burrito & Brews. \n\n\nEach bowl sold for $20 provides 180 meals for those in need.

SUMMARY:Madie Carroll House Egg Hunt
DESCRIPTION:FREE!!! Don’t listen to anyone who tries to sell you a ticket. This is a free event. It’s going to be a little different this year\, but still a fun afternoon of gathering eggs around the museum’s lawn.\nPlease wear your nose and mouth face coverings at all times. We will have some masks and plastic bags for those without a mask or basket.\nEach age group will meet at their table area before the start is signaled. After gathering\, they will count in the grass where they gathered\, then give their number to the adult at the table with the clipboard. The prizes are at each area’s table\, instead of everyone gathering at the back patio.\nThis way we minimize contact and the kids can still go home with lots of goodies\nFor those interested\, we can give house tours to two family groups at a time.
