As one of the newest national parklands\, the “Grand Canyon of the East” along the New River is majestic and breathtaking in fall colors in mid to late October. It is during this peak autumn foliage time that our train traverses the former Chesapeake & Ohio mainline from Huntington\, WV to Hinton\, WV\, allowing for a front-row seat to some of the most spectacular scenery in the country.\nEach of the four trips depart at 8:30 a.m. from the platform at the Huntington C&O Depot located at 935 7th Avenue in Huntington. The train will later stop in St. Albans\, giving coach passengers the option of two boarding locations. When purchasing Premium and Dome Service\, you have to board in Huntington. After leaving Huntington\, the train rolls through the Teays Valley area to the Kanawha River near St. Albans\, staying along the Kanawha all the way to the mouth of the New River at Gauley Bridge. The tracks then follow the New River for the remainder of the trip into Hinton.\nLandmarks and scenic locations on the route include downtown Charleston and the State Capitol building\, Insitute of Technology\, of West Virginia University in Montgomery\, Kanawha Falls\, Hawks Nest Dam and bridge\, the famous New River Gorge Bridge at Fayetteville\, Grandview\, Stretcher Neck Tunnel\, Sandstone Falls\, and numerous historical artifacts and towns from the New River’s rich coal mining era.\nWe will be stopping in Hinton\, WV for a layover for no more than 3 hours. DESCRIPTION:Come ride our exciting NEW trip called the “Big Apple Express”. The trip is an all inclusive trip by private luxury railroad car to New York City. We will travel from Huntington\, West Virginia through the 65 mile long New River Gorge\, up and over the Blue Ridge Mountains up the Northeast Corridor to New York City. We will be staying DOWNTOWN in NYC.\nOn Thursday\, we will hand out the 72 hour Gray Line Bus Tour Pass tickets and let you be on your own to do what you would like. There are many different things to do in the city\, see a show\, shopping\, Times Square\, etc. If you need assistance with anything\, you will have our contact information.\nOn Friday and Saturday\, you will be on your own for the day!\nOn Sunday\, we will depart the hotel early in the morning and head back to West Virginia aboard our private railroad car. DESCRIPTION:Come ride our exciting trip called the “Cherry Blossom Express”. The trip is an all inclusive trip by privately owned luxury railroad car to our nation’s Capital. We will depart Huntington\, West Virginia on Sunday 7:00 am and travel through the 65 mile long New River Gorge\, up and over the Blue Ridge Mountains to our destination of Washington DC. We will serve breakfast\, lunch & dinner on our way to DC onboard the train\, prepared by our all volunteer\, friendly crew. When arriving in DC\, we will board our motorcoach which we will have throughout our Washington DC journey\, and travel to our hotel.\nOn Monday we will travel aboard our motorcoach to all the major monuments\, memorials and be guided by a local Washington DC tour guide. After our busy day\, we will have dinner at Fogo de Chao Restaurant in Downtown Washington DC. After dinner we will go back to the hotel.\nOn Tuesday\, we will depart the hotel for the Smithsonian for the day for you to be on your own to explore all the wonderful museums. At 5:00pm\, we will gather together and head to dinner at the Old Fish Market in Old Town Alexandria.\nWednesday\, we will depart the hotel\, and head to Union Station for our trip back to West Virginia. SUMMARY:Thanksgiving Day Exp Parade in New York City
DESCRIPTION:Come ride our historic railroad cars to New York City for the Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. We will depart Huntington\, WVa on Wednesday\, Nevember 21\, 2018 for New York City. Enjoy our privatly owned lounge cars we attach to the rear of the regually scheduled Amtrak® train. We will serve breakfast\, Lunch\, and Dinner on the way to New York City onboard. Travel through the New River Gorge\, Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia\, and up the Northeast Corridor. We will arrive in New York City around 10:30pm where will be bussed to our downtown hotel\, The Edison\, near Times Square. You will be on your own for the duration of the trip but will have a 72 hour Gray Line Bus Tour Hop-on- Hop-off Pass. The Thanksgiving Day Parade will be held in the morning on Thursday\, November 22\, 2018.\nOn Sunday\, November 25\, 2018\, we will be bussed back to Penn Station to board our cars back to Huntington. We will serve breakfast\, lunch\, and dinner on the way home.
