SUMMARY:"In Time and Space" with the HSO Chorus
DESCRIPTION:Join the Huntington Symphony Chorus for an evening of music exploring how we travel together through our own space and time while learning from other walks of shared experience. You will hear works by Copland\, Whitacre\, Lauridsen\, and Clausen\, alongside pieces by newer choral artists such as Shelton Ridge Love\, Jacob Narverud\, and Z. Randall Stroope. As we all recognize the timeless connection between art and life\, this concert draws inspiration from the words of Jean-Michel Basquiat: “Art is how we decorate space\, music is how we decorate time.”

The men\, under the direction of Marshall University Assistant Professor Dr. Briana Nannen\, have been working in a music class once a week. \nSpeakers throughout the concert will create awareness to substance use disorder\, share their stories and highlight the work taking place in Huntington. The concert will conclude with the Marshall Wind Symphony\, conducted by Dalton\, performing David Maslanka’s monumental work\, Symphony No. 4. \nThe concert is free and open to the public\, but donations will be accepted at the door.
