Bee Day at Beech Fork

It’s National Bee Awareness Day!  Various activities on this day will include bee themes, including a drawing for free West Virginia honey, and a walk to see the 11 bee hives recently added to the park.
4pm Fishing Contest– Kids 14 and under can bring their fishing poles to the dock behind the boat rentals to try and win ice cream!
5:30pm Bee Craft!  To celebrate National Honey Bee Awareness Day, meet the naturalist in the activities room to make a great bee craft!
6:30pm Pollinator field and bee walk!- Join our guest Master Naturalist Fred Tackett and bee keeper Ermel Cook to learn about our new pollinator field project and all the beautiful flowers in it!  We’ll also take a short walk to see the eleven new bee hives in our park, and learn about them from the bee keeper himself!  Lastly, everyone who attends will be entered into a drawing and two lucky people will win a jar of West Virginia honey!
Beech Fork State Park offers some of the best recreational opportunities in West Virginia’s southwestern region. Visitors to this 3,144-acre park can hike in the hills, watch birds, fish or take a boat out on Beech Fork Lake.
