Whooo’s ready to explore?
Cabell County Schools 5th graders from the TAG program will lead this hands-on science workshop where kids become real-life nature detectives. Owl pellets aren’t poop—they’re the unwanted parts of an owl’s meal (like bones, fur, and feathers) that the owl can’t digest. Instead of passing them through their bodies, owls cough them up as tidy little pellets!
During this workshop, children will:
Learn how owls hunt and eat
Carefully take apart real owl pellets
Discover tiny bones and identify what the owl ate
Explore how scientists use pellets to understand food chains and ecosystems
Perfect for toddlers, homeschoolers, and curious young scientists, this interactive activity introduces real science concepts in a fun, safe, and engaging way.
FREE with admission. No reservations needed—just bring your curiosity!
