A.D. Lewis Community Center

During the era of segregation in Huntington, WV, there were no community pools available to African Americans. So, in 1967, the A.D. Lewis Community Center, named after Baptist Minister A.D. Lewis, was established as the first municipal pool for African Americans in the city.
