A Musical Duel

The Huntington Symphony Orchestra presents: A Musical Duel, featuring the legendary music of the Austrian, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the French, Joseph Bologne Chevalier de St. Georges. The night will open with Bologne’s Overture to his opera, L’Amant Anonyme (The Anonymous Lover). Afterwords, we will be joined by special guest soprano Michele Byrd Gerlach as we present Bologne’s “Enfin une foule… L’Amant, devient propice” from the same opera. We will follow this with a selection from Mozart’s legendary opera, The Magic Flute, with the piece “Der Vogelfanger bin ich ja” (Papageno’s Aria), sung by bass Eric Brown. Finally, after the intermission, the HSO Chorus will be featured and join the orchestra as we present Mozart’s epic final masterpiece, his Requiem. So come and welcome 2024
