APH Speaker Series

FreeAPH Huntington announces it’s 2021 Speaker Series featuring five distinct presentations and special guest speakers addressing the experiences, challenges, opportunities, and perspectives of people who are blind of visually impaired. The American Printing House for the Blind (APH) is the world largest nonprofit organization creating accessible products and programs designed to support the educational, workplace, and independent living needs of people who are blind or visually impaired.
The series launches with a panel discussion addressing self-advocacy for people who are blind or visually impaired on July 27, 2021 from 5:30 – 7:30 at the Cabell Wayne Association of the Blind. APH Huntington Accessible Community Development Strategist, Lee Huffman, will guide this community conversation exploring keeping a healthy outlook, leaning new technologies, workplace challenges and successes, and building a mindset for success, with special guests: Alan Lovell, information & Referral Coordinator APH ConnectCenter, Melanie Peskoe, digital content & engagement specialist APH ConnectCenter, Arron Preece, AccessWorld Editor-in-Chief American Foundation for the Blind, Marissa Slaughter, grant Writer APH Devleopment.
