Art Society Presentation: Geographic Narratives within Artist's Books

Sarah McDermott will present Geographic Narratives within Artist’s Books at the March 19th 6:30pm meeting of the Huntington Area Art Society.
This talk will discuss how landscape features function within artist’s books to tell stories, convey information, explore ideas, or attempt to represent the human experience of the environment. McDermott will present her own artist’s book, Channel and Flow, and additional examples on this theme. McDermott is a new Assistant Professor of Printmaking in the School of Art & Design at Marshall University.
The Huntington Area Art Society presentation series is sponsored by the Marshall University College of Arts and Media and the School of Art & Design. All are welcome, however, seating is limited. Participants are invited to arrive early to choose a seat and enjoy conversation with the presenters and other attendees. A $10 donation is requested. Proceeds support programing in the School of Art and Design.
