Dolly Dash 5K Race for Reading at Ritter Park

Marshall University’s June Harless Center is excited to announce the 3rd Annual Dolly Dash 5K Race for Reading taking place Saturday, August 9th at Ritter Park!
Proceeds from this event will provide books to West Virginia’s youngest learners, giving families an opportunity to build a home library that has long-lasting literacy, social, and economic outcomes.
As a result of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library statewide program, schools receive a better-prepared kindergartener, and studies have proven by 3rd grade, child graduates outperform their non-DPIL peers in academic testing by 29%. Statistics also reflect higher graduation rates, positively impacting economic and workforce development and even substance use prevention.
This year’s FUNdraiser includes:
8:30am- Family Fun! Shaved Ice, Music, and More!
Texas Roadhouse and Lil Creamer Shaved Ice truck will be there along with other community partners!
9:00am- Best Dressed Dolly Contest in Child, Adult, and Pet “Doggy Parton” Categories
Prizes awarded by Austin’s Ice Cream, Dave & Buster’s, and Huntington Children’s Museum!
9:25am- Race begins
