Freedom to Be: Trans Art Workshop & Listening Session
July 20 @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Join us on July 20th to make a quilt square for the ACLU National Freedom to Be Project, where trans people across the country design quilt squares together that explore what it means to be free as trans individuals. These squares will be joined together as a monument and used at a Trans Day of Visibility Rally in D.C. next year where the collective art of trans people across the United States will be displayed together
This workshop will be led by local artist, Sassa Wilkes and Sam Green, Trans Justice Organizer for the ACLU of West Virginia. We will work on the quilt square project while focusing on the lived experiences of trans West Virginians, and what hopes we have for our futures.
