Hard Hats & Heroes
April 27, 2019 @ 10:30 am - 2:30 pm
The Junior League of Huntington’s 6th annual Hard Hats and Heroes (formerly known as Touch-a-Truck) will be held on Saturday, April 27 from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Center for Education. We hope you’ll be able to join us for this fun, educational, and charitable event! Event will be held rain or shine.
Hard Hats and Heroes provides a unique opportunity for children of all ages to explore vehicles such as a fire truck, police car and helicopter, among others. Participants are encouraged to touch their favorite vehicles, get behind the wheels and meet the people who help to build, protect and serve our community. Inflatables, Barker Farm Petting Zoo, food, drinks and other activities will also be available at this family-friendly event. A special horn-free hour will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for children who are sensitive to loud sounds.
Proceeds from the event allow the Junior League of Huntington, a non-profit organization, to promote voluntarism, develop the potential of women, and improve our community. Some of our community projects include cooking classses for independent living women of the Golden Girl Group Home, an annual soup drive benefiting the Facing Hunger Foodbank, and a summer backpack program. Over the last few years, our summer backpack program has fed 30 local students for the entire summer.
