Looking for some fun in the sand and sun, but can’t make it to the beach? Huntington Children’s Museum and Marshall University’s Office of Student Affairs is teaming up to bring the beach to you! Plan to join us at our inaugural SandFest on Saturday, September 10 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Memorial Fountain behind the MU Student Center. Marshall student groups will compete in a tabletop sand sculpture competition to see who will win the inaugural Golden Shovel award. In addition to the sand sculpture competition, families can expect a sand pit, sandcastle making stations, STEAM activities and more! This event is free and designed to be fun for all ages!
Proceeds raised during SandFest will benefit Huntington Children’s Museum, which just unveiled its newly-purchased home at 1700 Washington Ave. (the former West End Shoney’s location).
