Marshall University – Special Collections Department

Marshall University Special Collections is located in Huntington, WV. We house historical records related to the university and the local community. Collections include the Marshall University Archives, West Virginia Family History, Banjo Women of West Virginia and Eastern Kentucky, and WSAZ-TV Newsfilm. Special Collections maintains a permanent "We Are Marshall" display showcasing items used in the production of the film and the Charles Yeager Room.

Open to the public: Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Special group arrangements can be made by request.

Special Collection also maintains the Rosanna A. Blake Collection is a unique collection of materials relating to the Confederacy, the southern states, and the Civil War and Reconstruction. The collections includes more than 3,000 rare books, numerous examples of weaponry, and many photographs and other Civil War-era ephemera.

Open to the public Monday - Thursday 9:00 am - 3:00 pm and by appointment on Friday
