Art Reception | Possession is Not Distinguished: By Purchase or By Gift

Marshall University School of Art & Design is pleased to present Possession is Not Distinguished: By Purchase or By Gift, an exhibition by ByProduct Studios, the collaborative practice of Cincinnati-based artists/designers Molly Jo Burke and Nathan Gorgen. On view in the Birke Art Gallery from August 12 through September 19, 2024, Burke and Gorgen transform excess materials from their daily lives, artistic practices, and surrounding environments into artworks that recall domestic objects and challenge perceptions of a material’s purpose, quality, and value.
In addition to the exhibit, Burke and Gorgen will offer an artist talk on Wednesday, September 18 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in VAC 209. There will be a closing reception on Thursday, September 19 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the Birke Art Gallery.
The exhibition is on view in the Birke Art Gallery, located on the first floor of the Visual Arts Center at 927 3rd Ave, Huntington, WV.
Regular gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Admission to the gallery and all events are free and open to the public.
