Artist Talk | Becky Borlan
October 17 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Marshall University’s School of Art & Design is pleased to host an artist talk with Becky Borlan, a Baltimore-based artist and Visiting Joan C. Edwards Distinguished Professor in the Arts on Oct. 17 at 5 p.m. in the Visual Arts Center, room 209.
Borlan was selected through an open call for Reinventing Central City: Huntington, WV public art commission, where she will create two sculptures for Central City Gazebo in the West Huntington Neighborhood. This project, funded by T-Mobile’s Hometown Grant program and sponsored by RenewAll and the City of Huntington, is part of a larger revitalization effort for the area.
This artist talk will be a pre-conference event for the Art Careers: Public Art mini conference taking place on Oct. 18 at the Visual Arts Center beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Admission to the Visual Arts Center galleries and all events is free and open to the public.
For those unable to attend in person, the talk will be streamed online at https://www.marshall.edu/livestream/
