Arts Night Out – May Edition

FreeMay’s Arts Night Out takes place at Heritage Station on May 9, 6 pm – 9pm as we celebrate the Huntington arts scene! Check out some amazing visual arts, enjoy delicious food and drinks, relax to some bluesy tunes, connect with local authors, and much, much more. This event is free and open to the public.
Visual Arts:
Photographer Jesse Thornton showcases West Virginia’s beauty with his exhibition “West Virginia Dreamscapes” at The Red Caboose.
Mixed media artist Debi Ellis will inspire and delight with her solo exhibition at Sip Wine & Whiskey Bar.
Artist Kayleigh Phillips presents “Free Refills”, an exhibition that she created using the humble, ubiquitous Guest Check as her tiny canvasses, at Moonlight Cookies.
The multi-talented author and photographer Eric Douglas uses sunlight to develop his images. The cyanotype technique he uses was first created in 1842. His show “Blue and White: Photographs Printed by the Sun” will be at Taps at Heritage Station.
Culinary Arts:
A pepperoni roll contest will take place on the Heritage Station patio. If you want to prove you make the best pep rolls in Huntington contact Anna or Molly at Moonlight Cookies to enter.
Musical Arts:
Local duo Blues Crossing will perform throughout the evening.
Artisan Pop-Up:
Cheeky Mama Organics will explain the importance of natural skincare solutions and offer their line of bath and beauty products for purchase.
The Haute Wick Social will host Ashland artist Chanda Scobee of “the beat”. Chanda’s created inspired and personal jewelry, art, and much, much more!
Literary Arts:
Huntington Fiction Factory hosts author Casey L. Bond in the Visitors Center. Whether you are self or traditionally published or just starting your first writing project, it is never too early or too late to make a marketing plan. Casey Bond will discuss the ins and outs of author marketing, including how to use social media, and what traps to avoid. Get down to Huntington Fiction Factory and get your name out there!
Interactive Arts:
Full Circle Gifts and Goods will host a create-your-own-tile event for folks interested in creating their own piece of art! Cost per tile is $25. Participants will carve a prepared tile. Full Circle will fire the tiles and contact participants for pick up once the tiles are ready.
