Cast Iron Cookoff

The smell of homemade apple butter being cooked, the thrill of buying freshly harvested local produce, the way cast-iron creations melt in your mouth, the explosion of color across the mountains…that, dear friends, is the 9th Annual Fall Festival at Heritage Farms. Saturday, October 12th from 10am-3pm. Mark your calendars!
Admission: $12 adult $10 senior $8 child (ages 2 and under free)

All of our museums will be open, wagon rides will be given, and the petting zoo, MakerSpace, Discovery Zone, Hands-on activity barn, and more will also be open. Many artisans will be demonstrating their talents, including renowned glassblower, Ron Hinkle. Taste-test multiple different cast-iron cuisines! The Central Ohio Valley Section of the American Chemical Society will be giving guests the opportunity to learn how pickling and canning work for food storage over winter. Prichard Farm will be selling freshly harvested local produce. Wild Heritage will be taking folks on hikes through the fall foliage on our nature trails. Endless fall fun will be had! There will be a maximum of 10 teams competing. The first-place winner, as determined by a panel of judges, will receive $300, second place – $200 and third place – $100. The public will choose the recipient of the People’s Choice Award, with a prize of $100.
