Homeschool Day at Heritage Farm

$8Home School Day offers you and your children the opportunity to visit West Virginia’s first Smithsonian-affiliated museum and experience its hands-on, educational activities.
The focus of Home School Day will be the Revolutionary War.
SCHEDULE:
10:30 a.m. Patrick Henry (15 minutes)
11:00 a.m. Tea in Boston Harbor (approx. 30 minutes)
Participate in a readers theater to determine what to do with that tea?
12:30 p.m. God save the King! Tory presentation (approx. 30 minutes)
1:15 p.m. What’s a Minute Man? (approx. 30 minutes)
In addition, you can decipher spy code, sew stars, print with Ben Franklin, view the museum collections, ride the wagon, pet the animals, and play in the Discovery Zone.
Please call in advance if you have a group of 10 or more.
We recommend that you allow a minimum of three hours to tour the museums, visit with the blacksmith and other artisans, do chores in the Children’s Activity Museum, explore the petting zoo, ride the wagon, create in the MakerSpace and have fun in the Discovery Zone play area.
Cost for the day is $8 for children and adults. We require that a parent/adult accompany the children at all times during the visit.
Food will be available for purchase in our café or you are welcome to bring a picnic lunch. Please call in advance if you have a group of 10 or more. (304) 522-1244 to register.
