Writers Can Read – A Tribute to Carter Taylor Seaton
January 20 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

This month’s Writers Can Read will be a very special event. It will be a tribute to one of the founders of the Writers Can Read series: Carter Taylor Seaton. It will feature four local writers sharing Carter’s influence on their lives and their writing, as well as reading their favorite selections from her work. After they finish, audience members will be given brief time slots in which to share their own experiences with Carter. The event is free and open to the public and will take place on Monday, January 20 at 7 P.M. in Heritage Station at 210 11th Street in downtown Huntington.
The “Writers Can Read” open mic night reading series takes place on the third Monday of each month (all year) from 7:00-8:30 in Heritage Station at 210 11th Street in downtown Huntington, West Virginia. The event normally features two award-winning, published authors that serve as “featured readers” to begin the event each month. Previous featured readers have included: Marc Harshman, Denise Giardina, Crystal Wilkinson, Jonathan Corcoran, Doug Van Gundy, Robert Gipe, Nick White, and others. Afterwards during normal events, the mic is open to anyone in the audience that would like to share a creative work.
