Writers Can Read Open Mic Night

Each month Empire Books and News hosts Writers Can Read bringing together authors, aspiring authors and those who just enjoy reading to share their works. This event is free and open to the public. This month’s featured speakers are Crystal Good and Gene Williams.
Crystal Good is a Quantum Christian, Tunk player, Libra charmer, and Underdog cheerleader. As a member of the
Affrilachian (African-American-Appalachian) Poets, she is a featured poet/speaker at universities and colleges. “Valley Girl” is her first book of poetry.
A journalism graduate from Kent State University, Gene worked for several large national newspapers and of won dozens of AP awards for writing and section editing. Gene is
author of the Noah Greene mystery series and is currently finishing work on “My Grave Is Deep”, also featuring Noah Greene .
